Which curriculum does RIS follow?
The Primary school follows the acclaimed National KSSR integrated with Islamic knowledge and Quran memorisation syllabus.
What is KSSR, Islamic knowledge, Quran Memorisation?
KSSR is an acronym for the ‘Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Rendah’. While Islamic knowledge consists of specially selected subjects and chapters from JAIS (Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor) module which were prepared by qualified teachers tailored to students’ age group for better resorption and understanding of knowledge. Lastly, our qualified teachers perform the specially developed and designed schedules of Quran memorisation tailored to students’ age group.InshaAllah, the syllabus is expected to be completed within the designated time. Does the school provide Learning Support?
The School has Learning Support Specialists who provide additional support for selected learners. Additional support may be given within the mainstream class or, on occasions as learners may be withdrawn for specialist lessons. All applicants are assessed to see how the school is able to effectively cater the learners’ needs.
What are the facilities offered at the school?
State-of-the-art ICT facilities, playroom, football field, fully equipped auditorium theatre, primary library, cafeteria, science laboratories, art rooms.
What are the Co-Curricular activities offered by the school?
There is a full and varied CCA programmes offered which will vary according to demand. Activities are normally held on Tuesdays and Thursdays for approximately 1 hour after school. The range of CCAs may vary each term.
Some of the offered CCAs at RIS are: swimming, Taekwando, archery, horse riding, gardening, football, photography, fencing, cooking, rock climbing, drama club, and fun band.
Can learners commence school at mid-term?
Yes, after they have undergone the assessment required by the school. However, this situation should beavoided as it can be unsettling for the child.
How many learners are there in each class?
The number varies according to the age of the child, but as a general guide our maximum class size will not exceed 24 learners.
Which are the foreign languages taught at Rizq Islamic School?
As well as Bahasa Malaysia, we offer Arabic Language for all children above the Reception age. For upper grade learners, we offer Mandarin Language as an optional additional language. There may also well be other languages offered as CCAs.
What is English as an Additional Language (EAL)?
Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme is designed to enable learners with little or no exposure to the English Language to develop fluency and competence in English. This is believed to make them capable to follow the English National Curriculum at RIS.
Is Uniform compulsory for all learners?
Yes. For female learners aged 10 and above, they are obliged to wear school hijab/scarf. For more details regarding the School uniform, please check with the Student Services.
What type of food is available at the school cafeterias?
Each week,parents and learners will be able to choose the meal sets from the menu published in the school website or picked up at the school cafeteria. The meal choice covers the Western, Asian and Vegetarian categories. All meals are Halal as required in Malaysia.
Does the school provide transportation for its learners?
Yes, a van service is available. Please check with the Student Services for more details.
Does RIS offer boarding facilities?
Yes, we do provide boarding facilities. However, the facilities will not be open for usage at the moment. Kindly contact the Admissions Department for more details.
